School programs

Robert studied violin and viola with Mary Nemet in Toowoomba.

After completing his LMusA in violin, he moved to Sydney for the Bachelor of Liberal Arts at Campion College, graduating in 2014 with majors in Philosophy, History and Latin.

In 2018, he completed a Master of Philosophy degree and is currently undertaking a PhD in medieval philosophy.

He has lectured in philosophy, ethics, history of science and history of music at the University of Notre Dame, Campion College and the University of New England and has published an article, “The Fibonacci Sequence and the Golden Ratio in Music,” in the journal Notes on Number Theory and Discrete Mathematics.

Robert played viola with the Australian Youth Orchestra from 2015-2019.

Inspired by many great conductors of the orchestra, Robert started training in conducting and in 2024 he had an opportunity to conduct the Sydney Youth Orchestra in a performance of Brahms’ Academic Festival Overture in Lazenby Hall.

Since 2023 he has enjoyed teaching the violin and viola at the New England Conservatorium of Music and becoming a part of the musical community in Armidale.
